I also want to mix up the genres in the list so I might typically have science, sport, drama, documentary then comedy. My criteria is "timeliness" which sort of covers keeping on top of currently active podcasts and favouring daily podcasts over weekly podcasts but also takes account of the immediacy of the benefit of listening to a an episode: News over historical discussion for example. Personally I do not have a need for new episodes to be automatically added to the Up Next list. I use filters to organise the bulk of episodes waiting to be played: An All New list sorted Newest to Oldest and an archive list for each of the podcasts which have a hefty backlog of episodes which I keep sorted Oldest to Newest. Personally I use the Up Next list for the relatively small number of mixed episodes I plan to listen to in the next session. Maybe you are using the Up Next list in a way it was not designed for. I now I am probably the only person that had these annoyances, bus they stop me using the app full time. She's anyone know if any of these issues will be resolved. The filters don't work as well as when one episode finishe it seems to revert back to the "play next" episode rather than the next episode in the filter. The other 2 apps I mentioned have a while range of ways to sort the podcasts ranging from published date, new to old, old to you etc.Īlso the episode artwork doesn't work and although the chapter artwork does work, it didn't work on Android Auto which is where I do the majority of listening on.įinally separate play lists would be really good. If you have a large number of podcasts waiting to be listened to it is a very the consuming process to get them back into order again. My main complaints are firstly there is no way to sort or order the next up list apart from manually dragging and dropping episodes. I was wondering what makes Pocketcasts casts so popular? I see more recommendations for this podcast app than then either Podcast Addict or Podcast Republic, but Pocketcasts send to lack a lot of the functionality of the other 2.
